Shambhala is an old Tibetan word and means a place of peace, tranquility and happiness. The mythological paradise that people have been searching since thousands of years. Welcome to Shambhala!

We didnt' built a resort. We built a village. A village of twelve old style and yet comfortable bungalows surrounded by lush tropical gardens. Amazingly fast growing flowers, lots of banana, papaya and other trees and plants. It doesn't matter much in which of the bungalows you stay. From all of them you can overlook the Bay of Nai Wok (Ao Plaaylem) with the two islands Koh Tae Nok and Koh Tae Nai as well as Ang Thong Marine National park and neighbouring Koh Samui. The turquoise lagoon in the mornings and the firy red and violet sunsets in the evenings are providing us with a very privileged situation – Shambhala.

More and more people consider Ao Plaaylem as one of Koh Phangan's best beaches. Because it has kept its original beauty until today and is yet so close from the main town Thongsala. We do our best to keep it like it always was: Natural, beautiful, simple.
